Martha Beck, PhD
Best-known life coach in America
Martha Beck grew up wanting to be an ecologist or a professor. However, after bearing three children while acquiring three Harvard degrees, Martha decided she’d rather just lie down for a few decades.
During that time she became an author and life coach. Her books include, Expecting Adam, Leaving the Saints, Finding Your Own North Star, The Joy Diet, Steering by Starlight, Finding Your Way in a Wild New World, and her brand-new book, Diana, Herself: An Allegory of Awakening.
Martha has been a columnist for O, The Oprah Magazine since its inception in 2001 and has been a contributing editor for several popular magazines, including Real Simple and Redbook.
Martha continues to speak around the world as well as offer virtual classes and in-person workshops a few times a year, primarily at her ranch on the Central Coast of California, where she lives with her partner, Karen, and her son, Adam.

The initial session will help students relax into the environment of Multiversity and gain a sense of peaceful separation from the pressures of their everyday lives. As the evening continues, the discussion and exercises will help them become more aware of areas in which socialization and/or trauma are influencing their choices. Clearly noticing these inner dynamics will help them begin to identify their authentic preferences and desires.
The morning session will pick up where the evening session left off, with concepts and exercises designed to give students clearer, more immediate access to their “sense of truth.” This will bring up a stronger desire to live authentically and a vision of what each student might achieve given unlimited freedom—and also an awareness of the psychological and social pressures that may be keeping them from making authentic choices.
Building on the morning session, the afternoon will focus on finding reserves of peace and strength to help students break away from inauthentic choices and live the lives they truly desire. Martha will coach some individuals through potentially difficult situations they may encounter as they begin to make the changes necessary for their happiness and fulfillment.
Sunday will be devoted almost entirely to questions, answers, and coaching. Students will receive additional tools to help them break free from limiting patterns and build lives of joy and integrity. Martha’s work with individuals will help the other students see, in real time, how they can find the truth within themselves and begin expressing it in every area of their lives (which happens to be the key to wellbeing).
