Are you a yoga teacher or movement instructor looking to take your knowledge and teaching confidence to the next level?
Join global yoga educator Jules Mitchell, MS, CMT, E-RYT 500, for a 5-day intensive that weaves together asana and all the basics of biomechanics. Jules will lead you through the latest in movement research and foundational scientific concepts in an easy-to-understand way that builds body awareness and will immediately impact the way you teach and practice yoga.
As you engage in in-depth discussions, interactive exercises, and practical application of your own movement, you will:
- Learn how current science can help you refine your cueing, pose choices, and sequencing
- Differentiate between anatomy and biomechanics, and challenge the conventional script for even the most basic yoga poses
- Explore different types of stretching, and how they affect tissues, performance, and injury
- Consider how refined movement can promote positive tissue change and adaptation
- Play with unique and effective tools such as isometric and resistance stretching.
Soak up Jules’s immense knowledge of yoga and exercise science in a workshop designed to help you bring biomechanical concepts into asana in a real, actionable way.
Jules Mitchell, MS, CMT, E-RYT 500
Yoga and biomechanics educator
Jules Mitchell is a Las Vegas-based yoga teacher, educator, and massage therapist. Her unique approach blends the tradition of yoga with her extensive study in biomechanics to help teachers develop their craft and empower themselves with education. Jules’s work aims to achieve ease in movement through deliberate effort, and her teachings integrate numerous modalities. She balances the physical aspects of yoga with the most current exercise science. Bringing the most useful and applicable pieces of that science into the yoga community is her passion.
Jules is the author of Yoga Biomechanics: Stretching Redefined, and she has been featured and interviewed on numerous blogs and podcasts, as well as in Yoga Journal.
Jules regularly contributes to teacher training programs and leads workshops and courses worldwide. As adjunct faculty at Arizona State University, she serves as a yoga consultant on research studies measuring the effects of yoga therapy on special populations.
Her most influential teachers include Leeann Carey (Yapana Yoga), Gil Hedley (Integral Anatomy), John Casey (yoga philosophy and Sanskrit), and the many dedicated scientists who collect, analyze, and publish data in order to ask more questions, even when it invokes a discerning analysis of tradition.View Bio Page
