Program Description

Spend a magically powerful weekend with Dance of Liberation™ founder Parashakti and master yoga instructor Joe K enjoying a soul-opening blend of yoga, dance, and shamanic exploration.

Based on a series of shamanic practices known as the Seven Foundations, Dance of Liberation helps you shed inhibitions, heighten inner awareness, and awaken joy. This powerful soul work—blended with a unique and accessible twice daily yoga practice—is designed to ignite kindness, radiance, health, and a deep sense of renewal. You will:

  • Ride illuminating and metaphorical waves of energy while activating your flow state
  • Integrate mindfulness, pranayama (breath), and yoga asanas (postures) with the deeply communal and powerfully individual experience of deliverance known as Dance of Liberation
  • Take advantage of one-on-one time with both Parashakti and Joe Komar—available throughout the retreat.

Discover the fiery lights of your most authentic self  through the healing art of yoga and the freedom of dance. You’ll return home connected with the vastness of your spiritual potential and ready to live a life of joy, vitality, and purpose.

    Parashakti

Mover, shaker, founder of Dance of Liberation

Parashakti is the founder and creator of Dance of Liberation® (DOL), a method of movement therapy and deep process work that draws on shamanic traditions to help individuals achieve emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual integration.

A devoted student of dance and yoga, Parashakti has facilitated workshops, trainings, and retreats for more than two decades. She has brought DOL from Los Angeles, New York, and Guatemala to Indonesia, Israel, and Greece, and has adapted DOL’s teachings as a modality for recovery from addiction, PTSD, and disordered eating.

The developer of SoulHealing™, Parashakti also helps people discover their soul’s deeper meanings and life mission through private intuitive healing sessions. She is both the subject and co-producer of the full-length documentary Dance of Liberation, which premiered at the Sedona Film Festival and was acquired for distribution through FMTV. She has been featured on television, as well as in LA Yoga magazine, Newsweek, Time Out New York, and the Jerusalem Post.

    Joe Komar

Joe Komar is the founder and owner of Urban Exhale Hot Yoga in Los Angeles. He is devoted to developing, guiding, and creating the perfect space for students to start, continue, or deepen their yoga practice.

With over 1,000 hours in training and over 7,500 classes taught, he has guided hundreds of thousands of students in Los Angeles and across the world in yoga, meditation, and mindfulness—both in large group settings and one-on-one.

Joe started practicing yoga in 2009. Two years later, he began teaching hot yoga and dreaming of designing his own practice space where he could connect his love and passion for yoga with his community of family and friends.

Developing, composing, and sharing a practice that resonates in his body and intuitively translating that experience for students is his deepest love. He is known for the personal attention he gives to students each time they return to mat, breath, and body.
