Become more adventurous about a creating your personal yoga practice! This workshop is fundamentally about body love and body positivity, with a focus on empowering new yoga practitioners. Learn to create your own enjoyable at-home yoga practice with confidence and ease.
Jessamyn—a social media sensation, body-positive advocate, and high-energy writer and yoga teacher—is known for prompting students to check-in with themselves by asking, “How do I feel?” versus, “How do I look?” Her teaching inspires self-love, confidence, and inner strength.
This weekend you will learn:
- The fundamentals of building a typical vinyasa-style yoga practice
- A creative method for designing personalized yoga flows using your imagination and the wisdom of your body
- To cultivate self-compassion and love for your body to experience more freedom on the mat and in your life.
As you participate in yoga classes, one-on-one sharing, group discussion, and journaling, you will tap your inner wisdom and learn to expand your yoga practice so it can positively affect every aspect of your life. Jessamyn will give hands-on adjustments, consultations, and advice, and you will have the opportunity to share body-related fears, vulnerabilities, and concerns during group sessions.
The weekend will end with a class-curated yoga flow, with every student contributing a segment to the sequencing. You will return home with the skills to redesign your robust personal practice again and again.
Yoga teacher, body-positivity advocate
Jessamyn Stanley is a yoga teacher, body-positivity advocate, and writer based in Durham, North Carolina, who teaches high-energy vinyasa flow as a way to overcome mental and emotional barriers. She provides a body-positive approach to yoga, which celebrates students’ bodies and encourages them to ask, “how do I feel?” rather than, “how do I look?”
Jessamyn studied with Kimberley Puryear and Stephanie Keach of Asheville Yoga Center and her eponymous yoga lifestyle blog and Instagram attract thousands of followers daily, offering tips and advice for other yoga practitioners while documenting her home yoga practice.
