Program Description

A woman’s pelvic floor is an immense source of power, stability, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, most of us ignore our pelvic floor, not realizing its important role in our general health until something happens (often unpleasant) to force us to pay attention.

Nourish and replenish your body, mind, and soul in a special weekend retreat for women with Jane Austin, perinatal director of Yoga Tree in San Francisco. Using the tools of yoga, journey to your true core at the center of the body: the pelvis—the seat and the source of female power.

Through the course of this weekend, you’ll learn to move from a place that is not only stable (Sthira) and supple (Sukha), but also powerful (Shakti). Discover fluid movement, free of restriction, and understand how to channel your core’s power to promote health and well-being.

You will learn:

  • Movement and breath techniques to help tune into your pelvic floor
  • How to bring more awareness and vitality to these deep foundational tissues
  • How your physical core is linked to your overall vitality and stability.

All self-identified women are encouraged to attend, regardless of age or ability.

    Jane Austin

    Yoga Teacher, Child Birth Educator

    Jane Austin has worked with mothers for more than two decades as a yoga teacher, midwife, doula (labor assistant), and childbirth educator.

    She is founder and director of Mama Tree, a Yoga Alliance-registered school dedicated to training yoga teachers, birth professionals, and other health professionals interested in teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga. Jane’s teacher training program attracts students from all over the world who are interested in utilizing the practice of yoga to support prenatal and postnatal women physically, mentally, and emotionally.

    Jane offers women a mindful, supportive, and nourishing yoga practice that empowers them through pregnancy, childbirth, and all of the years that follow. Although her style is influenced by many teachers and traditions—including Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Anusara—Jane’s most inspirational teachers remain her children and the many mamas and couples she has worked with. It is her vision to bring yoga to all pregnant women.
