Elise Browning Miller, MA, CIYT
Iyengar yoga teacher with specialty in back care
Elise Browning Miller is a Senior Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who has been teaching in the United States and internationally for more than 30 years.
She began her study of yoga in her twenties, rather than having a metal rod placed in her spine to address her scoliosis. A founding director of California Yoga Center, she holds a master’s degree in therapeutic recreation and has studied on numerous occasions with the Iyengars in India. Elise specializes in scoliosis, lower- and upper-back problems, and sports-related injuries.
Elise recently produced her own DVD and booklets, Yoga for Scoliosis and Yoga for Back Care, as well as a new edition of her book Yoga: Anytime, Anywhere. She has published numerous articles on scoliosis and yoga-related subjects in national magazines, including Yoga Journal.
Now able to live the pain-free life she has always wanted, she devotes her time to helping others do the same with a teaching style that is down-to-earth, precise, joyful, and nurturing.
