Program Description

When you tell the truth, your personal story expands and your life is transformed. Join best-selling author Mark Matousek for an intimate exploration of personal identity through expressive writing and self-inquiry. Learn to tell your whole truth and come to understand the mythic dimension of your personal struggles, triumphs, confusions, longings, digressions, and so-called mistakes.

Using targeted questions, radical truth-telling, and self-inquiry, you will delve into the narrative of your life and write honestly about your greatest challenges, deepest yearnings, secret wounds, and hidden gifts.

Learn how to:

  • Liberate yourself from the myth that you are your stories—every life is a work of fiction
  • Discern the difference between situation and story, and cultivate witness consciousness to reimagine your personal story
  • Explore positive and negative parts of the shadow and recognize the link between fear and desire
  • Overcome shame through self-inquiry, and change trauma narratives by separating storyteller from story.

No writing experience is necessary. This is a course in self-discovery—the only prerequisites are curiosity, intention, and a willingness to write the truth.
