Often mentioned but vaguely understood, bliss is defined as an achievable, heightened state of awareness. But the definition only begs questions: How do we achieve bliss? What’s stopping us? How do we maintain the feeling when it seems so temporary?
When it comes to accessing your bliss, Light Watkins shows you it’s much simpler than you might think, and that really, it takes very little to get started. In this weekend workshop, based on Light’s most recent book, Bliss More: How to Succeed in Meditation Without Really Trying, you will discover:
- Different approaches to meditation and how to pick the best one for you
- Efficient meditation postures and how to position your body for optimal results
- The best times to meditate to maximize results and avoid falling asleep, and how to settle your mind in meditation including when and when not to “focus”
- The structure of mantras and how to use them.
Bliss is the major benefit of a daily meditation practice. Come take the “hard” out of meditation to catalyze yourself into a more thoughtful and enlightened life.
Meditation teacher, founder of The Shine Movement
Light Watkins has been operating in the meditation space for over 15 years, first as a practitioner, then as an apprentice to his teacher, and finally as a teacher himself. His journey began with books, videos, and data, but it wasn’t until he found a teacher that Light noticed a drastic and positive difference in the quality of his practice—that it no longer felt hard to do.
In the words of Light, “I realized why meditation has been around for thousands of years—because when you learn it from a master it feels really good to do, and more importantly, it enhances the quality of all of your other ‘doings.’”
Based in Santa Monica, California, Light now travels the world teaching everyone from bankers, artists, and politicians, to CEOs, caretakers, and comedians how to meditate in a self-sufficient way. His passion is fueled by his personal experience: to date, he has taught meditation to roughly 2,000 people around the world.
Light is the author of The Inner Gymand Bliss More: How to Succeed in Meditation Without Really Trying. In 2014 he founded The Shine Movement: a volunteer-produced inspirational variety show, called “enlightertainment” by the New York Times, that pops up in Los Angeles, New York, and London every few months and which features music, short films, group meditation, audience-based philanthropy, and storytelling.View Bio Page
