A Summer Solstice Meditation Retreat
June 21 - 24, 2018
Thursday - Sunday, 3 nights
Plus 3 nights all-inclusive accommodations priced separatelyRegistration Closed
You are hard-wired for spiritual evolution; you carry the path to awakening within you. Yogic philosophy proposes that the human form consists of four interconnecting bodies: matter, energy, mind, and essence—which together create pure infinite consciousness.
Join spiritual teacher Mark Griffin for a weekend studying the dynamics of the human form and the practice of meditation as a means to achieve deep integration of all aspects of the self.
Through lecture, silent and guided meditation, and question-and-answer periods, you will explore:
- The architecture of the subtle energy body, including chakras, channels, and kundalini, and their role in experiencing advanced states of awareness
- Meditation practices for all experience levels, including methods to increase awareness and control of prana, the life force that resides within the breath
- How to access and sustain kundalini, the evolutionary impulse that drives the awakening process.
Spiritual teacher and meditation master
Mark Griffin, a spiritual teacher in Bhagawan Nityananda’s lineage, transmits the teachings and practices of yoga masters known as siddhas—spiritual adepts who have fully realized their true nature and who have the capacity to transmit the light of awakening to sincere spiritual seekers. He is founding director of the Hard Light Center of Awakening.
Mark was among one of the earliest of Western disciples to receive shaktipat initiation in 1976 from Swami Muktananda, who sought to create a “meditation revolution” by awakening kundalini, the dormant spiritual energy. After years of intense sadhana, or spiritual practice, Griffin entered the profound state of nirvikalpa samadhi and awakened to his true nature.
After Muktananda died, Mark continued to study with Kalu Rinpoche and Chögyam Trungpa, great Tibetan teachers of the Kaygü tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism. He began to teach and transmit shaktipat to sincere seekers, establishing the Hard Light Center of Awakening in 1989 as a vehicle for guiding students through weekly study and practice sessions, daylong meditation intensives, and retreats.
Since 2001, Mark has been leading the Hard Light Center on an annual spiritual pilgrimage to India.View Bio Page
