People can learn to change their thinking and behavior in ways that enhance happiness and resiliency. Studies in the fields of health psychology, neuroscience, somatics, and learned optimism confirm this. For 2,500 years, the wisdom teachings of the East have utilized what their texts refer to as “skillful methods” for the study and transformation of the mind-body. These meditation and visualization practices help cultivate self-regulation through awareness, concentration, mindfulness, and other attention skills. This leads to clarity of mind, spaciousness of self, and greater compassion.
Join licensed psychotherapist and author Dr. Ron Alexander and Ora Nadrich, the founder of the Institute for Transformational Thinking, to practice skills to calm the mind, develop a mindful brain, and navigate unsupportive thinking habits. Together, you’ll reframe negative thoughts, regulate mind-body states, develop trust with the unconscious, and explore inner resources for activating core creativity, vitality, and resilience.
During this powerful workshop, you will explore:
- Meditating and practicing psychological skills to promote insight as well as create new neural pathways for healthy and creative brain development
- Natural mind-body healing rhythms (yogic exercises and somatic breathing methods) for nervous system regulation
- Mindfulness, yogic practice, and somatic experiencing methods for containment and release of painful feeling states
- Using mindfulness to identify thoughts that are unsupportive or sabotaging of your needs and goals.
Throughout the workshop, the program will draw on techniques from modern positive psychology, mindfulness practices, neuroscience, somatic experiencing, transformational thinking, and nondual teachings. These skills are especially applicable for both self-healing practices and for healthcare professionals in their work with patients.

Ron Alexander, PhD
Licensed psychotherapist and clinical trainer
Ronald Alexander is a licensed psychotherapist, leadership consultant, clinical trainer, and author of Wise Mind, Open Mind. He is executive director of the OpenMind Training® Institute in Santa Monica, a leading-edge organization that offers personal and professional training programs in mindfulness-based mind-body therapies, transformational leadership, and meditation.
His unique method combines ancient wisdom teachings with positive psychology and creative thinking into a comprehensive, integrated, behaviorally effective mind-body program to support strategies of personal, clinical, and corporate excellence and growth.
Dr. Alexander has been a leading pioneer in mindfulness-based mind-body therapies, Gestalt therapy, somatic psychotherapy, Ericksonian mind-body therapies, holistic psychology, leadership coaching, and integrative and behavioral medicine since 1970. He lectures at the UCLA Departments of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Entertainment, David Geffen School of Medicine, Pacifica Graduate Institute, and Pepperdine University.
An associate member of the American Psychological Association and clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Dr. Alexander has also been a consultant and leadership coach with the entertainment industry and corporations for over 30 years. Founder of the Institute for Transformational Thinking and life coach
Ora Nadrich is the founder and president of the Institute for Transformational Thinking (IFTT). She is also a certified life coach, thought coach, and mindfulness meditation teacher, and is the author of Says Who?: How One Simple Question Can Change The Way You Think Forever. Ora’s extensive psycho-spiritual exploration in Jungian Analysis, Buddhism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), technology of change, and Kabbalah has influenced her work.
Ora is a frequent blogger for the Huffington Post and has been featured as a panelist on Huffington Post Live. She’s written many articles on mindfulness for Yahoo Health, Women’s Health, Success magazine, Spirituality & Health, MindBodyGreen, and many other publications.
She leads workshops on transformational thinking and the Says Who? method: a step-by-step process of confronting our negative thoughts, which are what often create the obstacles in our lives.
Providing both tangible and practical lessons, Ora’s leadership helps students address and overcome their negative thoughts and outlooks to live their lives at their highest potential. Among her other workshops are Mindfulness Matters, Living a Mindful Life, Conscious Manifestation, and Love, Sex, & Mindfulness.
Ora was an actress and screenwriter, where she worked in film, episodic television, and commercials for more than a decade, which she feels provided her vast experience in exploring motivation and the process of self-discovery. During that time, she simultaneously embarked on a two-decade psychological and spiritual journey toward self-awareness and transformation, which led her to becoming a life coach. She currently offers her Thought Coach™ Certification Training Program through her educational organization, IFTT.
