Program Description

Our world is more networked than ever, but unfortunately much lonelier. Most of us have plenty of acquaintances, but we still need to feel understood and known by a special few who matter most. This is what’s known as “frientimacy.” Join author and leading friendship expert Shasta Nelson, MDiv, to understand exactly what friendship is, why it’s so important, and how to develop it intentionally.

Combining in-depth research with knowledge, anecdotes, humor, self-reflection, personal assessment, and interactive group work you will learn:

  • Why addressing loneliness and increasing connection is essential for our health
  • The five different types of friendship we all need
  • Your specific friendship needs and the four common imbalances
  • The three requirements to start, repair, fix, or end any friendship
  • How to bond meaningfully and feel safe in vulnerability.

Today, the lonely person doesn’t lack social skills or dislike people. Rather, they have loads of relationships that they maintain at work, online, and in community. But, they often feel there isn’t time for the deepest, most nourishing connections and know deep down that happiness and health depend on truly supportive and fulfilling friendships.

Take this opportunity to write a personal relationship strategy and return home with the tools you need to purposefully forge the best of friendships.
