Program Description

Your whole body needs movement for you to thrive, even—especially—areas with joint replacements. Discover how to put movement and mobility back into your life, no matter what your age or joint condition.

Join biomechanist Katy Bowman and yoga therapist (and proud hip replacement “owner”) Jill Miller for a weekend workshop that will revolutionize your understanding of your body and your everyday habits. Experience a paradigm-shifting approach that promotes a vibrant and movement-rich life using exercises and soft tissue mobilization.

Katy will lead corrective exercises that are safe for joint replacements and make the surrounding tissues stronger and more supple. Jill will teach self-massage strategies using Roll Model® therapy balls, addressing muscle and connective tissue tension while heightening body awareness. Their combined approach relieves stress and movement limitations while boosting overall health and well-being.

You’ll learn:

  • The difference between occasional exercise and a lifestyle of integrated movement
  • Which movement patterns and compensation strategies can contribute to pain and joint deterioration
  • Why mobilizing your body through self-massage is so important, and the vital techniques for doing so on your own
  • How to increase whole-body movement even with some restricted parts
  • To tend to your knees and hips preventatively or postoperatively.
