Program Description

Writing focuses our attention unlike almost any other activity. When we aim our attention toward the realms of all that is possible, our lives become a living expression of those possibilities. The written word has the power not only to inspire, but to awaken the purest treasures of the human heart.

Join internationally celebrated author and teacher Albert DeSilver for a weekend writing workshop exploring inner and outer creativity. No matter what genre your writing takes—even if you simply enjoy writing in a journal—this mindfulness-based experience will help you plug into deeper levels of creativity and awareness.

Open the gateway to transformative creativity through dynamic meditation practices, innovative writing exercises, readings, Q&A, sharing, and discussion. Reflect on the writing of great spiritual teachers throughout history, from Sappho to Jack Kornfield. While it is not necessary to have an existing writing project, there will be plenty of time for you to focus on your own in-progress work.

In this generative writing experience, you will learn:

  • Innovative writing prompts, techniques, and practices to improve your writing
  • New ways to free yourself of writing blocks
  • How to access new, profound aspects of your creativity
  • A more thorough understanding of the connection between creativity and consciousness.
