Leaders in every industry must be effective, adaptive, and agile. They face choices that shape our communities, our financial security, and our safety. Yet the high-demand nature of their professional roles makes leaders themselves vulnerable to overwhelm and burnout.
While outward success may indicate no signs of this private suffering, as demands persist over protracted time periods, it is difficult to regain a sense of calm, clarity, or kindness toward oneself and others. Indeed, it is well established that high stress intervals compromise attention, decision-making, and the ability to regulate mood.
This weekend workshop is intended for leaders. It will interweave scientific presentations, group discussion, and practice opportunities. We will examine cutting-edge brain science on the topics of attention, mindfulness, and resilience.
In this exceptional workshop, you will learn:
- A suite of mindfulness exercises found to benefit attention and mood in high-performance individuals, including business and military leaders, judges, and elite athletes
- Ways to support thriving and resilience
- The costs of high stress and how to prevent its negative effects
- How to incorporate mindfulness meditation into an already full lifestyle with a personal well-being toolkit.
The course is taught by three experts with diverse expertise and perspectives. Amishi Jha, PhD, is a neuroscientist with expertise on the brain science of attention and mindfulness. Lt. Col. Jannell MacAulay is an active-duty US Air Force pilot with a background in human performance and extensive leadership experience as a squadron commander, combat veteran, and Air Force strategist. Scott Rogers is a law professor and mindfulness expert who has developed and delivered mindfulness training programs for many high performance leaders.
