Program Description

Take a break from the nonstop movement of your daily life to slow down and learn easeful, effective methods for boosting your mood—and getting unhooked from patterns of negative thinking.

LifeForce Yoga weaves the power of the ancient discipline of yoga with current scientific findings to help you release what no longer serves you.

This weekend, Amy Weintraub, MFA, E-RYT 500, a pioneer in the field of yoga and mental health and author of the groundbreaking Yoga for Depression, will guide you through a range of evidence-based practices for meeting and managing your mood.

You will learn:

  • Pranayama and kriya—breathing techniques that regulate the emotions
  • Meditations that lift the mood
  • How to create affirmations
  • LifeForce Yoga bhavana (imagery)
  • LifeForce Yoga chakra clearing meditation
  • LifeForce Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep)
  • Tones that regulate the emotions (mantras)
  • Yoga postures suitable for multilevel practitioners.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels, including beginners, and several yoga and mental-health professionals will assist Amy.

Psychotherapists, health professionals, and yoga teachers will learn practices not regularly taught in yoga classes to help students improve their abilities to focus, relax, access their feelings, and self-regulate.

You will leave feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited about your at-home or teaching practice, with new tools to bring balance to the emotional and physical bodies.

    Amy Weintraub, MFA, ERYT-500, C-IAYT, YACEP

    Author and founder of LifeForce Yoga

    Amy Weintraub is the founder of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute and has been a pioneer in the field of yoga and mental health for more than 20 years.

    With compassionate self-awareness as the foundation of her yoga practice and teaching style, she is involved in ongoing research on the impact of yoga on mood. Her evidence-based yoga protocol for managing mood is used in health-care settings globally and is featured in a number of audio-visual products, including the LifeForce Yoga series, an award-winning library of evidence-based yoga and meditation CDs and DVDs for mood management.

    In addition to her hatha yoga studies in the United States and India, Amy has been trained in Advaita Vedanta Nondualism, iRest Yoga Nidra, psychology, and Internal Family Systems Therapy with Richard Miller as her mentor.

    She is the author of Yoga for Depression and Yoga Skills for Therapists: Effective Practices for Mood Management and numerous articles and book chapters.
