Program Description

As we settle into winter, we often yearn to be nourished and sustained in a more substantial and comforting way while also needing a boost of energy and vitality to get through to springtime. Food is life, emotion, and medicine. But it doesn’t have to be a drag. Eating seasonally delicious meals does not require special culinary skills or hours in the kitchen.  Join Susan Powers, the revolutionary creative force behind Rawmazing, and holistic nutritionist Kaia Yue to learn the creative and practical skills to eat and live well all year.

In this experiential course, infused with flavor, color, and beauty, you will learn to:

  • Plan balanced meals with a variety of healthy recipes
  • Adapt whole-food, plant-based needs and satisfy even picky eaters
  • Prepare luscious soups, stews, quick breads, casseroles, and enticing desserts
  • Apply simple techniques to save time and make cooking fun and easy
  • Create your own recipes and make leftovers into new dishes.

Through lecture and demonstration, with some hands-on practice, you will learn how to cook easy, balanced, and varied meals in a joyful and responsive learning environment.

Don’t let winter be a rut of boring, repeat dishes. Return home with everything you need to nourish those you love, every day, with delicious, nutrient-dense recipes.

She started the Rawmazing blog seven years ago after finding a way of eating that helped her heal past digressions with food. After years of constantly searching to be “filled,” she found grace and true joy in life through raw, plant-based, and whole foods.

Through her recipes, she shares the knowledge she has acquired in her food journey and her passion about food and how it affects our bodies and health. She aims to inspire people and help them bring health, joy, peace, and beauty into their lives.

A top graduate from the Rouxbe Professional Plant-Based Cooking Certification, Susan trained in T. Collin Campbell’s Plant-Based Nutrition course through Cornell University’s eCornell Certificate Program, where she also learned to balance raw foods with the health benefits of properly prepared cooked foods.
