Program Description

In our professional caregiving roles, we are expected to constantly extend care to others, be fully present to them, see them in their deep worth, dignity, and potential, and help them find their hidden strengths. Yet we are never trained to do this for ourselves or cope with the suffering and difficulties we encounter. The cost is the depletion of our own energy and health, leading to burnout and empathy fatigue.

Sustainable Compassion Training (SCT) is a proven approach that helps us find a sense of inner safety and deep replenishment from which to be more sustainably and compassionately present for ourselves and for others. It invites us into authentic relationship with our own feelings and allows us to access an unconditional power of care from within.

In this life-enhancing professional retreat, you will learn:

  • The theory and practice of cultivating sustainable care and compassion through three modes of care
  • How to transform the suffering you encounter in your empathy for others into an increasing power of care and compassion
  • How to make your compassion inclusive and renewable so that you are not repeatedly overwhelmed by the challenges you face
  • How to stay in touch with the essential humanity of everyone involved in the personal and social structures that caregiving takes place within.

You will return home replenished and empowered, with strong, active skills to support you in an ongoing way, so that you can thrive personally and professionally.
