Barbara Birsinger, ThD, MPH, CEDRD
Healing eating specialist, creator of The Behavior Decoding Method
Barbara Birsinger specializes in the spirituality and soulful purpose in eating and weight issues. She has worked with individuals and groups for nearly three decades to promote intuitive nutrition, size acceptance, compassionate self-care and health promotion. Dr. Birsinger helps clients feel at peace with food, experience joy and vitality in their body, and find true nourishment and passion in life.
Creator of The Behavior Decoding Method™ (BDM), within the context of the Health At Every Size® Principles, her approach is based on research and clinical best practices, the healing of her own eating disorder, and others’ shared experiences. Dr. Birsinger offers a robust online course and is writing a book for the public based on the BDM™ research and practice—she is presenting this material at 1440 Multiversity.
She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist-RD Nutritionist and Certified Clinical Supervisor (IAEDP), Licensed HeartMath® Biofeedback Coach, Certified Master Transformational Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, and Licensed Spiritual Health Counselor.
She maintains a private practice (in-person in the Northern San Francisco Bay Area, and virtually across the globe), trains other health professionals in her approach, and serves in leadership positions on the boards of several nonprofit health organizations.
