Perhaps our greatest shared desire is to make the most of our time in this world—to fully live the one life we’re given. To do so, we must learn when to exert effort and when to let go. To know joy, we must love everything in the way.
Join poet, philosopher, and influential spiritual teacher Mark Nepo for a weekend workshop to deepen your conversation with life—with all its obstacles, joys, victories, and challenges. Based on Mark’s beloved book, The One Life We’re Given, this experience of self-study is designed to help you more truly inhabit this one life by getting closer to life, loving what you do, finding what can last, and being kind and useful. Using ancient and contemporary stories, poetry, journaling, and dialogue, Mark will guide you toward the inherent wisdom that waits in your heart. During this immersive weekend, you will:
- Learn how to make good use of your heart’s guidance in times of trouble
- Move toward awakened wisdom that already lies within you
- Understand how sincerity and wise effort help us to survive and thrive
- Discover how hard work and authenticity can point you toward a life with meaning and grace.
Spiritual guide and philosopher
Mark Nepo is a poet and philosopher who has been teaching poetry and spirituality for over 30 years. He inspired readers and seekers worldwide with his #1 New York Times best seller, The Book of Awakening, and has been called one of the finest spiritual guides of our time. Mark has published 19 books and recorded 14 audio projects, and his books have been translated into more than 20 languages. His latest books include The One Life We’re Given and Things That Join the Sea and the Sky: Field Notes on Living.
Of his journey, Mark reflects that a near-fatal fight against cancer in his thirties inspired his devotion to the heart and made him “committed to introducing fellow seekers to their own gifts and their own wisdom, which always leads us to the mystery that we are more together than alone.”
Mark has been widely interview and featured in the media, including several appearances with Oprah Winfrey on OWN’s Super Soul Sunday program and on Good Morning America, where he was interviewed by Robin Roberts. He was also part of Oprah Winfrey’s The Life You Want Tour in 2014. Mark received a Life-Achievement Award from AgeNation in 2015, and in 2016 he was named by Watkins Mind Body Spirit magazine as one of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People.View Bio Page
