Program Description

A mindfulness practice doesn’t just enhance our own well-being and performance-a mindful lifestyle ripples out to benefit all of those in our world. Take your personal mindfulness practice to the next level and become a mindfulness ambassador.

Join Rose Pavlov, founder of Ivy Child International, and George Mumford, mindfulness and performance expert, for a weekend workshop that will equip you to build a self-sustaining mindfulness environment in your workplace and home. Through meditation, movement, group discussion, lecture, journaling, and self-reflection, you’ll learn how you can become part of the Mindfulness Multiplier Effect: an approach that recognizes our mindfulness practice not just as inward-looking and reflective, but also as an outward-sharing opportunity to transform the lives of those around us.
You’ll learn:

  • Tools to enhance your performance at work and in life
  • How to develop personalized and self-sustaining mindfulness plans
  • Strategies to foster a culture of care, compassion, and mindful behavior, and to share these life-changing techniques with others.

You’ll receive access to digital resources including printable handouts, videos, and mobile apps to use after the program. This weekend is recommended for individuals who currently have a personal mindfulness practice, though anyone interested in fostering a mindful life is welcome.

    George Mumford

Mindfulness and performance expert, sports psychologist

George Mumford, known as the Mindfulness Performance Whisperer, is a sought-after leading expert in sports psychology and performance. George is the author of The Mindful Athlete: Secrets to Pure Performance and board member emeritus of Ivy Child International, a nonprofit devoted to universal mindfulness education. Called Phil Jackson’s “secret weapon” for winning eight NBA Championships for the Chicago Bulls, George’s passion is teaching mindfulness to high-profile sports, business, and academic teams alike.

George’s personal story began when, as an aspiring basketball player at the University of Massachusetts, injuries forced him out of the sport he loved. The medications that relieved the pain of his injuries numbed him to the emptiness he felt without the game and eventually led him to heroin. After years of making meditation the center of his life and getting clean, George enrolled in Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and collaborated with him to create the Inner-city Stress Reduction Clinic in the early nineties.

George has also worked with the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks, Olympians in many sports, and senior global business executives. He has been featured on ABC News, Huffington Post, NPR’s On Point, in Mindful magazine, in the Boston Globe, and more.
