Program Description

Dealing with stress and quieting the mind can be as challenging as catching the wind in a net. The mind is a stream of energy, and the key to stabilizing that energy is bringing awareness to the body.

This weekend workshop is based on qigong, an ancient system of moving meditation that mirrors the movements of nature. The river flows down the mountain, the trees grow up towards the light in the sky—these natural processes give us guidance for how to direct our awareness and internal energy.

Join internationally renowned teacher Lee Holden to practice qigong and moving meditation for quieting the mind and transforming stress into vitality.

During this retreat you will learn:

  • How to focus on body awareness and allow the mind to enter the present moment
  • Qigong practice for using the body as a grounding agent for the mind
  • Breath activation, movement, and flow to enter the rich, deep experience of the present moment.

As you pay attention to the body, and the mind enters the present moment, you will experience aliveness and a newfound presence of mind. You can easily continue to use the practices in your daily routines for ongoing access to a richer, more natural experience of life.

    Lee Holden

    Meditation, tai chi, and qigong instructor

    Lee Holden is an internationally known instructor in meditation, tai chi, and qigong, as well as a licensed acupuncturist. In collaboration with Mantak Chia, one of the foremost qigong experts in the world, he has been instrumental in bringing ancient Taoist teachings to Western culture.

    Lee conducts training and certification programs in traditional and medical qigong and studies with qigong masters throughout the world. In addition to his international teaching and private practice, he serves as a stress-management consultant to top corporations—such as Apple, 3Com, and Cisco—and has been an on-set wellness consultant for several Hollywood films.

    He is the author of 7 Minutes of Magic, was featured in his own series of qigong DVDs, and is a regular fixture on American Public Television, appearing on more than one hundred PBS stations throughout the United States and Canada.
