Program Description

Yoga is a remarkable method for focusing attention on what is happening moment to moment. It is also a path capable of leading us through transformation on all levels. Yoga reminds us of who we truly are—the light radiating from within. Through our practice, we connect with our source of compassion and radical acceptance.

Enjoy a weekend exploration of the depths of yoga as a practice of awakening through SmartFLOW yoga with SmartFLOW creator Annie Carpenter, MS, E-RYT 500, and yoga therapist Leslie Kazadi, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500.

You will experience a perfect balance of strength and softness by embracing all aspects of self-care: intelligent strength, resilience, and relaxation. Through yoga asana, restorative yoga, meditation, and pranayama, you will explore:

  • SmartFLOW vinyasa morning practices to strengthen the body and cultivate awareness through self-inquiry
  • Restorative afternoon practices to calm the body and soften the heart/mind
  • Walking meditation in the redwoods to ground your sense of being
  • Resting in the still point between effort and ease
  • Celebrating your body’s innate wisdom with mindful movement, fluid transitions, and supported stillness.

    Annie Carpenter, MS, E-RYT 500

Yoga instructor, teacher trainer, and SmartFLOW® Yoga creator

Annie Carpenter, creator of SmartFLOW Yoga, is an international yoga teacher based in northern California. Known as a “teacher’s teacher,” she has created a well-respected system of yoga practice and teaching methodology. A committed student, Annie continues to bring her curiosity and love of anatomy, evolutionary movement, meditation, and classical philosophy into her teachings.

Annie is the author of RelaxDEEPLY, a CD of restorative yoga, and Yoga for Total Back Care, a DVD produced by Yoga Journal, and several SmartFLOW manuals. She contributes regularly to Yoga Journal. An influential teacher trainer since 2003, Annie leads 200-hr and 500-hr trainings and workshops globally and at YogaGlo.com.

SmartFLOW Yoga is a modern approach with an anatomically sound foundation and inspired, creative sequencing rooted in deep respect for the lineages of Integral, Iyengar, and Ashtanga Yoga. SmartFLOW Yoga guides you to know your true self. With that knowledge comes compassion, peace, and appreciation for all life.

Annie is committed to mindfulness, which inevitably leads to spiritual development and light-heartedness. Respected widely in the yoga community, Annie is known for being direct, yet compassionate, playful, and loving.
