Set the tone for a beautiful new year with a dynamic asana practice that opens you to greater self-care, self-respect, and self-love.
Maty Ezraty, one of the original founders of the acclaimed YogaWorks studio, will guide you through a process of positive physical, mental, and energetic change. You will discover the alchemy that happens when you slow down, get quiet, and concentrate your attention on your practice with relaxed focus. From that centered place you gain an increased ability to understand what you are doing, and why—on and off the mat.
As you let go of physical tension and mental distractions, you will be able to do more, and your confidence will build. This inner confidence is one of the great gifts of a deepening practice. It will help you learn to:
- Find freedom from the habit of pushing too hard and find strengths you didn’t realize you possessed
- Round out your yoga practice, making it a healthier and more complete practice in ways that are meaningful to you
- Use the breath to feel more intimately connected to yourself and others.
Morning sessions will focus on asana practice. Afternoons will be a time to slow down and go inward through a variation of pranayama, meditation, and restorative poses. The natural kinship between the morning and afternoon sessions will help you to see your yoga practice with fresh eyes.
Maty Ezraty, a prominent figure in modern-day yoga, was one of the first women to study Ashtanga Yoga intensively with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. She is one of the original founders of YogaWorks, the first school of its kind, offering different styles of yoga including Iyengar and Ashtanga, as well as workshops with many of the world’s best-known teachers.
At YogaWorks, which now has more than 30 locations spanning Southern California, Northern California, and New York State, Maty directed and helped shape the highly renowned YogaWorks Teacher Training Program for more than 16 years, training many of today’s leading yoga teachers, including Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Natasha Rizopoulos, and many others.
A dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga for more than 25 years, she has also devoted close to 30 years to studying with senior Iyengar teachers such as Dona Holleman and Gabriella Giubilaro. She has also spent several years studying vipassana meditation at Spirit Rock in Woodacre, California, and at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts.View Bio Page
