Pain is not a lifestyle. But that is what chronic pain creates. It shrinks everything in life down to one narrow field of experience—and how to manage it. Join master instructors Dr. Mike Lane, DC, and Brian King as they share their more than 30 years of combined experience working with athletes, yogis, and others to show you how to go beyond pain management to reclaim your vital physicality in a way that actually heals your body.
This 5-day retreat uses Foundation Training (FT) to help develop movement strategies that specifically meet your needs at work, home, and the gym, or on the bike, road, court, and field. You will:
- Identify and change habits to manage pain and prevent injury
- Improve posture, performance, and structural integrity
- Increase balance, flexibility, and proprioceptive awareness
- Learn decompression and anchoring techniques for the spine and joints
- Grow stronger and more attuned to your body’s signals through AnatomySense
- Create personalized self-care programs to integrate at home.
Gain the knowledge you need to thrive in your daily, active life through Foundation Training, based on accessible, safe movement sequences that fundamentally take you from pain to performance. Be guided step-by-step through lecture, workouts, discussion, and hands-on therapeutics to move through life with greater ease, efficiency, strength, and mobility.
Join us on the leading edge of movement science. All levels and abilities are welcome. Bodywork professionals, movement teachers, physical trainers, and chiropractors will also benefit, learning skills to take back to their practices.
Foundation Training master instructor
Brian King has been teaching Foundation Training (FT) for nearly 10 years. He has been a member of the Foundation Training Certification teaching team since its inception.
He originally met Dr. Eric Goodman, the creator of Foundation Training, in early 2009 as a student “curious to learn about making my spine as strong as possible.” To date, he has helped guide over 900 instructors through the intensive 4-day FT Certification program nationally and internationally. He’s also personally worked with hundreds of people one-on-one, helping them find freedom from pain.
Brian has seen FT work for doctors of all kinds, physical therapists, yoga teachers, health practitioners of many other modalities, and people who simply want relief from pain. He has worked with the US Olympic women’s beach volleyball team, the professional Garmin cycling team, professional surfers and golfers, and professionals in many other sports.View Bio PageMike Lane, DC
Foundation Training master instructor and chiropractic physician
Dr. Mike Lane’s passion is guiding people into their bodies so they feel empowered to take care of themselves intelligently and effectively. He is a chiropractor, anatomy teacher, and Foundation Training master instructor dedicated to helping others heal through intelligent movement and self-awareness.
Over the last 18 years, Dr. Mike has studied a wide spectrum of healing modalities, including craniosacral therapy, Active Release Technique, Hendrickson Method, chiropractic, and emotional release. He believes that many of the most common diseases stem from the mind, distracting us from the body’s innate wisdom.
Dr. Mike teaches Foundation Training (FT), a performance and postural program designed to optimize health through movement and awareness. In his years of bodywork and chiropractic practice, he has seen that FT is a home remedy that helps maintain alignment, stability, and freedom after chiropractic adjustments. FT is his number-one prescription for pain, healing, and vitality.
He teaches AnatomySense in dynamic workshops and yoga teacher trainings, inspiring students to better understand themselves and their students.
Dr. Mike also leads weekend retreats for men to become more compassionate and present. He has taught nationally and internationally, including for Lululemon, Wanderlust, YogaWorks, Yoga Tree, and the Esalen Institute.View Bio Page
