Program Description

Are you a runner who dreams of doing yoga? A yogi who wants to start running? Are you interested in moving with greater ease and joy?

Join running coach Aracely Areas and yoga teacher Jill Lacher and experience a complementary blend of correct postural alignment, strength building, and balance in motion with relaxation techniques and slow, passive, restorative stretches.

You will achieve greater ease in your running while connecting with your breath, body, and mind through a carefully designed sequence of yoga poses specifically for runners that address stamina, core strength, flexibility, and muscle tension. You will also explore:

  • Daily runs using ChiRunning techniques for low impact running
  • Understanding the value of listening to your body when choosing foods and workout intensity levels
  • Ayurvedic wisdom and practices to enhance your performance and well-being
  • Yoga styles known to increase energy and mental focus, reduce stress and injury, and improve strength and flexibility—therapeutic, restorative, Yin, and vinyasa—as well as Thai massage, and yoga therapy balls
  • Techniques for enhancing lung capacity so you can feel lighter and more relaxed on every run
  • Running biomechanics and how to develop a personalized running plan.

Take home empowering techniques for a home practice that perfectly combines yoga and running through complementary yoga postures, and achieve increased harmony, well-being, energy, and mental focus.
