Program Description

Are you ready to let your yoga practice guide you in all areas of your life? Join master teacher Aadil Palkhivala, a disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar, for an immersive study and intimate practice of the foundations of Purna Yoga.

Aadil’s signature style of yoga, which he cocreated with his wife, Savitri, is a holistic synthesis of yogic traditions based on the work of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. His classes are a warm combination of instruction, philosophical insights, poetry, and humor.

This beginner teacher training is a dynamic exploration of yoga methodology, alignment-based asana, Heartfull Meditation, musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. You will be instructed in how to teach yoga as well as spend time exploring how the practice inspires personal growth and inner wisdom.

Through lecture, demonstration, and lots of hands-on practice, you will learn:

  • How to teach the basics of standing poses, inversions, twists, backbends, and forward bends
  • Purna Yoga’s opening series, morning series, hip-opening series, and classical surya namaskar series
  • The proper posture and instruction for pranayama, including ujjayi breathing
  • How to use props, adjustments, and safety points
  • Timeless spiritual truths and ways to ground them in your everyday life.

Those who are looking to deepen a yoga practice, continue education as a yoga teacher, or want to explore becoming a yoga teacher are welcome.
