Program Description

You have the potential to live a much fuller life—one where the impossible becomes possible. But a powerful inner enemy prevents you from embracing this potential, robbing you of true pleasure, destroying your relationships, and stealing any sense of hope.

Phil Stutz, MD, creator of The Tools®, calls this enemy Part X. As a psychotherapist with more than 32 years of experience, he has worked with thousands of patients to see through Part X and defeat it.

You will learn how to:

  • Identify your own Part X and what to do once you discover it
  • Use The Tools—quick, simple practices that can be done in under a minute—to address common stumbling blocks like avoidance, anger, negative thinking, compulsive behavior, and victimhood
  • Take immediate action to get yourself out of whatever hole you’re in, no matter how many times you fall in
  • Tap into and stay connected with your life force, the key to becoming the person you’re meant to be.

    Phil Stutz, MD

    Psychiatrist and cocreator of The Tools®

    Phil Stutz, MD, worked as a prison psychiatrist on Rikers Island and then in private practice in New York before moving his practice to Los Angeles in 1982. He earned his medical degree from New York University.

    He is coauthor, with Barry Michels, of The Tools: 5 Tools to Help You Find Courage, Creativity, and Willpower—and Inspire You to Live Life in Forward Motion. Stutz is also a contributor to and

    Jamie Rose

    Life Coach

    Jamie was Phil’s patient in the 1980s and was completely transformed by his work.  She feels honored that he has entrusted her to share his legacy as one of the few Life Coaches specializing in the Tools®.

    Jamie has been a professional actor for over five decades. She has given workshops in university settings with actors for television, film and theater. She also consults with writers, helping them to potentiate readings and media appearances. Her seminars have been featured at the SAG Foundation and PEN America.

    Jamie’s essays and articles have been published in magazines such as Coast and Actors Ink. She is the author of Shut Up and Dance! The Joy of Letting Go of the Lead (Tarcher/Penguin, 2011), a “dance of life” memoir exploring the relationship of masculine and feminine archetypes as embodied in the Argentine tango.

    A recovering alcoholic, Jamie has been helping people to overcome addiction issues for over 30 years.

    Informed by a lifetime as a working artist and teacher – enriched by her long-time studies with Dr. Stutz – Jamie’s engaging, empathic gifts led to her current work as a certified Tools® Life Coach.
