What you practice grows stronger. Mindfulness is a simple, powerful skill and an essential building block in our ability to practice compassion toward ourselves and others.
Clinical psychologist Dr. Shauna Shapiro, PhD, offers you tools that weave together the art and science of mindfulness to support you in healing and living a joyful, meaningful life. Through lecture, discussion, and practical exercises, you will discover how modern neuroscience and ancient wisdom come together to help us make positive changes in our brains and our lives.
You will explore:
- Simple yet potent meditation practices, including loving-kindness practices, mindfulness meditation, and mindful movement to experience the transformational power of your awareness
- How to use different types of attention and concentration (meditation) to decrease stress levels and improve a variety of psychological conditions
- Revolutionary research in neuroscience that explains how neuroplasticity can help you change and reshape your brain to live a healthier, happier life.
You will take home practices specifically designed to grow neuropathways of health, joy, wisdom, and compassion. Be prepared for unexpected delight. This workshop is appropriate for anyone curious about meditation.
