Qigong is the “new yoga.” No matter your age, fitness level, or mobility, you can start off the new year with this high-energy, fun, 5-day program, and dive deep into the foundations of qigong.
Using movement that engages the whole body, conscious breathing, and posture awareness, you will experience balance in mind, body, and spirit through Eastern traditions and wisdom.
Medical qigong expert Chris Shelton will share easy-to-use tools for maintaining, enhancing, and protecting the health and vitality of your body and mind. This course is appropriate for novice and seasoned practitioners of holistic health and anyone seeking an effective, uplifting practice to reach lifestyle and wellness goals.
You will learn:
- How to use breath, posture, and intent to positively affect the well-being of your body, mind, and spirit
- Simple meditations to restore harmony and balance to your inner and outer life
- How the five elements manifest in our bodies and what happens when elements are out of balance
- Gentle, anyone-can-do-them movements to accelerate healing and alleviate chronic pain.
You will leave each session with self-healing techniques you can incorporate into your life and share with others, to protect the body from disease and emotions from blockages, while increasing vitality and resilience.
Qigong teacher and award-winning martial artist
Chris Shelton, a certified qigong practitioner and teacher, is also an author, professional speaker, workshop leader, and an award-winning martial artist.
Chris first experienced the powerful effects of qigong while recovering from a devastating back injury as a teenager. In 1988, after studying with some of the most revered Chinese medicine masters, he started his own medical qigong practice. He now teaches self-healing techniques to a range of ages, skill levels, and abilities—from youth to Special Olympic athletes to professional fighters.
At the Morning Crane Healing Arts Center, which he opened in 2000 in Willow Glen, California, Chris teaches kickboxing, qigong, and tai chi, and treats clients using traditional medical qigong practices.
Due to the outstanding results his clients have experienced, he has been interviewed on Showtime, UFC, and NBC Sports, among other media outlets.
He was the 2010 Tiger Claw grand champion in tai chi and has been featured in Kung Fu Magazine. He is the author of Qigong for Self-Refinement: Total Health with the 5 Elements and works alongside his wife, Parisa Shelton, to promote the beneficial effects of qigong.View Bio Page
