Teacher, author, researcher, and master facilitator
Wendy Baron is a teacher, author, researcher, coach, and master facilitator. She is cofounder of the New Teacher Center, a premier coaching organization, where she serves as Chief Officer of Social and Emotional Learning.
Wendy is author of several articles and book chapters, and has produced numerous videos related to mentoring and new-teacher development.
In addition to her leadership in the field of education, she has been a longtime contributor to the Chopra Center, writing course materials and leading the content development for online learning.
A certified meditation and yoga instructor, Wendy brings unique skills and expertise to her workshops for fostering personal growth in the areas of conscious communication, relationships, leadership development, health, and well-being. Yoga instructor and 1440 R&R Manager
Leanna rediscovered her love of yoga in 2011 in an aerial yoga class, joining the fluidity of dance with the disciplined art of yoga. After a couple of years “in the air,” Leanna transitioned onto the mat where she developed both flowing and stillness practices.
As an elementary school teacher, Leanna furthered her own yoga education in order to bring these teachings alive for her students. By attending the YogaKids Foundations Training, she has been able to provide a playful and nurturing practice to children in classroom, camp, and studio settings. Her work with adults is just as profound.
Leanna draws inspiration from local and international yoga teachers such as Valerie Moselle, Matthew Remski, Jenni Rawlings, Lisa Garrido, Diane Bruni, Bridget Puchalsky, and others. Her teaching and her classes aim to be thoughtful, intentional, and inclusive. Foodie and culinary master of the Kitchen Table
Kenny is 1440’s executive chef and the creative mastermind behind Kitchen Table. Knife wielding, lemon squeezing, chiffonading, braising, blanching, seeping, searing, plating, and staying present are all within his (delicious) wheelhouse.
A native of Tuscon, Arizona, Kenny is big on jazz, meditation, and simple living. His favorite three-word phrase: mise en place—French for “everything in its place.” According to Kenny, “It’s just kind of a way to live your life—knowing what’s going on, staying in the moment. When you translate that to a kitchen, it’s success.”
Kenny offers cooking demonstrations in 1440’s Teaching Kitchen, allowing guests to delve into 1440’s inspired culinary creations, as well as cook and share a healthy, mouthwatering meal in collaboration with others.View Bio Page

Evening—1440 Sampler Weekend Opening Session with Wendy Baron and Leanna Immel: A special time to set intentions, meet other guests, and get settled in.
Early Morning—1440 Experience Class: Start your day with mindfulness during an offering of yoga, qigong, or meditation.
Morning—Mindfulness Meditation & Nature Immersion with Wendy Baron: Walk the gorgeous trails around campus, learn about our local ecosystem, and drop into inner peacefulness inspired by majestic redwoods.
Mid-Day—Private Hands-On Class & Lunch with Chef Kenny Woods: An exclusive cooking class in our spacious Teaching Kitchen designed to help you apply easy techniques for creating nutritious whole food to your daily eating habits.
