Winter Solstice Celebration

Deepen Your Connection to Soul and Spirit

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Celebrate the changing seasons and the winter solstice with gentle yoga, deep relaxation, and joy. The solstice is a time to slow down, quiet your mind, reflect on the past year, and set your intentions for what lies ahead.

Yoga teacher and shamanic practitioner Martha Williams, MSW, and musician, kirtan artist, dance and yoga teacher Daphne Tse will help you deepen your connection to soul and spirit through movement, ritual, and ceremony.

Drawing on shamanic teachings about the meaning and gifts of the yuletide season, time for reflection will be balanced with song, dance, and celebration—mirroring the balance of light and dark embodied in the solstice.

You will:

  • Explore sound, song, mantra, movement and more through the five elements and seven chakras to balance your entire being.
  • Gather in ceremony to honor the past year and look ahead to creating the year of your dreams
  • Move mindfully with gentle yoga and relax deeply in yoga nidra.

No prior yoga or shamanic experience required. All levels are welcome. You will leave feeling grounded and inspired for the coming year.

Faculty Bio

Martha Williams, MSW

Martha Williams has been engaged in the mystical world and wellness practices for close to 30 years and shares her passion for health, wellbeing and dynamic spiritual connection through workshops, yoga classes and shamanic healing. She enjoys drawing on the ancient wisdom practices of yoga and shamanism — rich sources of balance, empowerment and wellbeing – in workshops, yoga classes and her shamanic healing practice.

A former classical musician, she is trained as a clinical social worker and certified yoga teacher and studied shamanic practice with Dory Cote in Maine and sat in ceremony with the Q’ero shamans in sacred sites of Peru.

Daphne Tse

Daphne is a spirited, soulful artist and teacher originally from Texas. Her passion for music started from a young age, and since her initial yoga class in 1994, she has explored merging her spiritual practice with her contemporary folk singer-songwriter style.

She studied music at The University of Texas at Austin and The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and with kirtan master Jai Uttal. Daphne’s music has been featured on yoga music compilations with Shiva Rea, and she has released three albums, Mata, Finding Water, and Samahita Live.

Daphne has been teaching yoga since 2004 after completing a foundational teacher training in Venice, California. She has taught yoga to children and students of all ages. She is inspired by her friend and co-creator, Ellen Watson, with whom she has birthed SpiritDance SoulSong, a combination of ecstatic dance, sound, singing, and touch. She also embraces the teachings of Shiva Rea, Erich Schiffman, Mark Whitwell, and Ammachi in her daily practice.
