Mythic Motion Yoga

Creating a Conversation Between Story and Body

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Any time we move on the mat, we tell the story of who we are in the world. Join storyteller and yoga teacher Shannon Paige, E-RYT 500, for an immersion in the rich stories, themes, and symbols of Hindu mythology and discover how they can enhance your practice.

Each day will be governed by a specific god/goddess relationship, love story, curse, or re-ordering of fate. You will spend time embodying and feeling through Shiva and Shakti, Bhrama and Saraswati, Vishnu and Lakshmi, Ganesha, and Hanuman. Diving deep into a process of self-discovery through practice, thoughtful lectures, and mind-bending discussions, you will explore:

  • Powerful tales and teachings about each diety revealed through the art of storytelling
  • A slow, rhythmic vinyasa flow and rich restorative yoga
  • How to effectively tell a powerful story and weave myth into story-sequenced, Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga and meditative restorative yoga
  • Why myth, heroes, and heroines have such a strong impact on us.

Come discover how the art of myth telling can unlock potent truths held behind movement and hidden deep within the past, present, and future. Additionally, teachers learn to up-level their teaching practice with the ability to create inspired classes with guided myth and meditations that empower, inspire courage, and offer lasting transformation.

Faculty Bio

Shannon Paige, E-RYT 500

Shannon Paige is a yoga teacher, storyteller, and TedX speaker. She infuses her work with a fullness of artful living and passion for life on and off the yoga mat. Her instruments of instruction and expression are detailed and clear, woven through a fluid progression of imagery, poetry, and truth.

After a ferocious battle with cervical cancer at age 21, followed by an equally challenging battle with depression, Shannon discovered yoga as a path to reconnect with the body and change the mind to create a state of empowerment, stability, and release.

Shannon encourages and supports practitioners in unlocking secrets held in the human heart, releasing stuck patterns that no longer serve, and attaining new levels of integrated embodiment. Described by many as being “confidently vulnerable,” she inspires positive change.

She is founder of Earth Yoga Studio in Boulder, Colorado, and the School of Embodied Poetics. Off the mat, she loves to spend time in the sun, wake-surf, and run. She also globetrots to deliver transformative classes, talks, trainings, and retreats.
