Will Kabat-Zinn

Will Kabat-Zinn is a mindfulness and meditation teacher whose passion is to help people wake up to their own deepest nature.  Will spent close to a decade in and out of silent retreat, primarily in the Insight Meditation tradition and was deeply influenced by his time with the late Sayadaw U Pandita of Burma and Chan Master Sheng-Yen.

Will has taught meditation to diverse populations including neuroscientists at the Mind & Life Summer Research Institute, incarcerated youth in the South Bronx, Rikers Island, and Oakland, and business and technology leaders in Silicon Valley. Together with his wife Teresa Will developed and taught a mindfulness curriculum for parents as part of a long-term study on stress and cell aging at University of California, San Francisco.

Will is a member of the Spirit Rock teacher’s council and Board of Directors, ands leads a weekly meditation group in Berkeley, SundaySanga.net.  He lives in the East Bay with his wife and two children.
