Faculty Bio

Jon Gordon, MEd

Jon Gordon is a leadership coach, inspirational speaker, and the best-selling author of The Energy Bus, The Carpenter, Training Camp, The Seed, You Win in the Locker Room First, and The No Complaining Rule.

His leadership and coaching principles have been used by a number of coaches and teams in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, Fortune 500 companies, school districts, hospitals, and nonprofits. His clients include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Falcons, Campbell Soup, Dell, Publix, Southwest Airlines, LA Clippers, Miami Heat, Pittsburgh Pirates, BB&T Bank, Clemson Football, Northwestern Mutual, Bayer, and West Point Academy.

Jon has been featured on the Today Show, CNN, CNBC, the Golf Channel, Fox and Friends, and a number of magazines and newspapers. Jon is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a master’s degree in teaching from Emory University. He and his training/consulting company are passionate about developing positive leaders, organizations, and teams.

Marjorie Blanchard, PhD

Margie Blanchard, PhD, is a motivational speaker, an accomplished management consultant and trainer, a best-selling author, and an entrepreneur. She was the co-recipient with her husband, Kenneth Blanchard, PhD, of the entrepreneur of the year award from Cornell University.

She heads the office of the future, a think tank at The Ken Blanchard Companies®—an international management training and consulting firm that she runs with her husband. Dr. Blanchard served as president of the company from 1987–1997, leading its rapid growth and success.

Coauthor of The One Minute Manager Balances Work and Life, Working Well: Managing for Health and High Performance, and Leading at a Higher Level, Dr. Blanchard often speaks on leadership, balance, managing change, aging parents, and life planning.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cornell University and her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Ken Blanchard, PhD

Ken Blanchard, PhD, is a speaker, consultant, and chief spiritual officer of The Ken Blanchard Companies®, an international management training and consulting firm that he and his wife, Marjorie Blanchard, PhD, founded in 1979 in San Diego, California. Dr. Blanchard is best known for his 1982 book The One Minute Manager, coauthored with Spencer Johnson, which has sold more than 13 million copies.

Over three decades, he has authored or coauthored 60 books, which have sold more than 21 million copies. His groundbreaking works—including Raving Fans, The Secret, and Leading at a Higher Level—have been translated into more than 42 languages. In 2005, Ken was inducted into Amazon’s Hall of Fame as one of the top 25 best-selling authors of all time.

He is a trustee emeritus of the Board of Trustees at his alma mater, Cornell University, and he also teaches students in the master’s of science in executive leadership program at the University of San Diego.
