Faculty Bio

Harville Hendrix, PhD

Harville Hendrix is a couples therapist with more than 40 years of experience as a therapist, educator, clinical trainer, author, and lecturer. He and his wife, Helen LaKelly Hunt, cocreated Imago Relationship Therapy, a couples therapy now practiced by more than 2,000 certified therapists in 30 countries.

Referred to by Oprah Winfrey as the ‰Marriage Whisperer,‰ Dr. Hendrix has appeared on her show numerous times as a marriage and intimacy expert. He and his wife have coauthored ten books on intimate relationships and parenting, including the New York Times bestsellers Getting the Love You Want and Keeping the Love You Find, and their most recent book, Making Marriage Simple. For the past four years, Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Hunt have been working to ignite a global movement to educate people about the value of healthy, intimate relationships.

They reside in New York City, have been married 30 years, and have six children and five grandchildren.

Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD

Helen LaKelly Hunt has been an important partner to her husband, Dr. Harville Hendrix, both in the evolution of Imago Theory and the growth of Imago’‰s global organizational infrastructure.

Dr. Hunt has also been active within the women‰s movement, helping to catalyze and grow the area of women‰s philanthropy. Five years ago, she cofounded Women Moving Millions, a global movement of donors with the goal of raising the bar on women‰s giving.

Dr. Hunt is an honored inductee in the National Women‰s Hall of Fame and the author of Faith and Feminism: A Holy Alliance, as well as the recent article, ‰”Healthy Marriage: Healthy Women and Girls,‰” inviting the women‰’s movement to take up equality in marriage as an agenda. Helen and her husband live in New York City. Together they have six children and five grandchildren.

    This workshop is for couples only. If you want to attend alone as a clinician or a therapist, you have to attend the workshop with someone. This is important for the safety of other couples and also because of the dyadic practices throughout the program.
