Get Outdoors Weekend

Yoga, Paddleboarding, and Hiking

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Experience the earth, sky, and ocean as your classroom. Allow nature to undo the stresses of a modern lifestyle as you move across the refreshing blue waters of Santa Cruz coves on a stand-up paddle board (SUP) and hike on beautiful trails among towering redwoods.

This unique outdoor workshop combines yoga with both SUP and hiking, waking up your senses and inviting mind-clutter to disappear.

Out on the water, we begin SUP with basic strokes and lower-to-the-board yoga postures. Session-by-session, you will progress to intermediate postures, according to your comfort level.

In the afternoons, we transition into the woods for a hiking and yoga practice, with a grounded sequence to deepen into awakened presence.

You will learn and experience:

  • SUP strokes and maneuvers in the water
  • Safe and expansive SUP yoga postures on a paddleboard
  • Adjustments and modifications of SUP yoga
  • American Canoe Association Level 1/2 SUP skills
  • An outdoor yoga sequence you can effortlessly transport with you on your own hikes
  • Restorative Yoga
  • A body-mind immersion in nature for attunement, balance, and calm.

Enjoy a renewed connection with the natural world guided by this dynamic duo—Julia Roach, one of the early pioneers of SUP yoga, and Kathleen Clemmons, local Bay area outdoor guide, yoga instructor, and holistic coach.

Group discussions about integrating these practices into your life will support a lasting shift in your relationship to nature and your personal practice.
