In this 5-day program, fitness experts Stein-Erik Skaar and Karmin Skaar share their enthusiasm for exercising outdoors, immersed in the beauty of nature—the most amazing gym in the world. Together you will explore a variety of exhilarating high-intensity training techniques both indoors and out for boosting your mental and physical well-being.

  • High-intensity training techniques, including calisthenics, weight training, TRX® Suspension Training, TRX Rip Training, battle rope techniques, and agility drills
  • Strategies for interval training
  • Protocols for recovery

Faculty Bio

Stein-Erik Skaar

Stein-Erik Skaar is an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. Whether trail running, mountain biking, triathlon training, surfing, skating, snowboarding, rock climbing, or boot camping, Stein has been able to reach his goals and help others reach theirs by training hard on strength and endurance.

Certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and CrossFit®, Stein is also TRX®-qualified in suspension training, functional training, and rip training. He studied under Mark Twight’s tutelage at Gym Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah, and started his personal training career in 2001 at Class 5 Climbing and Fitness in San Rafael, California. He served as general manager of Berkeley Ironworks, one of the nation’s premier climbing and fitness facilities in Berkeley, California, and he refined his ability to instruct large groups at Five Points Fitness.

Stein now works out of Mt. Tam Racquet Club in Larkspur, California; NOW (New Om World); Pilates ProWorks® Larkspur; and the TRX training facility in San Francisco.

Karmin Skaar

Karmin Skaar began her fitness career with Skaar Fitness by assisting with outdoor boot camps regularly in 2009. She is now its event manager and main strategist. Karmin has extensive knowledge in nutrition, interval training, strength training, cardiovascular training, flexibility training, and suspension training. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classes.
