Faculty Bio

Eric Maisel, PhD

Dr. Eric Maisel is the author of more than 40 books and is widely regarded as the foremost creativity coach in the United States. He is founder of the field of creativity coaching and is particularly interested in issues around the creative life, life purpose, mental health, and mental health reform.

His books for creative and performing artists include Fearless Creating, Coaching the Artist Within, Secrets of a Creativity Coach, The Van Gogh Blues, Mastering Creative Anxiety, Making Your Creative Mark, The Creativity Book, A Writer’s Paris, A Writer’s San Francisco, and Creativity for Life. He is also author of The Life Purpose Diet, Life Purpose Boot Camp, The Future of Mental Health, and Hearing Critical Voices.

Dr. Maisel leads workshops nationally and internationally at retreat centers like Omega Institute, Kripalu, Esalen Institute, Hollyhock, and Rowe. He has also been a keynote presenter at the International Society for Ethical Psychology and Psychiatry.
