Embracing Conscious Elderhood

Unfold into Your Wisdom

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Contemporary culture rarely offers people past retirement age an inspiring, empowering vision for meaningful roles later in life. Despite what modern culture tells us, life’s later chapters are not primarily defined by loss, decline, and increasing irrelevance, but rather by huge potential for growth, fulfillment, and service.

Join the author of Conscious Living, Conscious Aging and founding director of the Center for Conscious Eldering Ron Pevny, MA, for a highly experiential introduction to conscious eldering. Discover elderhood’s unique opportunities to ripen into the fullness of our potential for emotional and spiritual growth—the wholeness that throughout history has defined those recognized as elders by their communities.

Through guided meditations, reflection exercises and journaling, time outdoors, storytelling, and the sharing of inspirational poetry, you will explore:

  • The five foundational elements that are key to fulfilling our potential as elders: belief, release of the past, purpose, community, and spiritual deepening
  • Group sharing using the Council/Circle Way process and meaningful ritual to delve into these elements and the key stages of unfolding in this life transition
  • The rich possibilities for fulfillment and the challenges inherent in a conscious, intentional approach to aging
  • Practices and tools to help you move forward toward conscious elderhood, wherever you are on your journey.

Faculty Bio

Ron Pevny, MA

For forty years, Ron Pevny has been dedicated to assisting people in negotiating life transitions as they create lives of purpose and passion. He is founding director of the Center for Conscious Eldering, based in Durango, Colorado.

Author of Conscious Living, Conscious Aging: Embrace and Savor Your Next Chapter, he is a certified Sage-ing® leader, and creator and administrator of the twelve-organization Conscious Aging Alliance. He has served as host/interviewer for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Transforming Aging Summits presented by the Shift Network.

Ron did his master’s degree work in integral counseling and psychotherapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies, learning therapeutic and growth practices from around the world. His unique approach emphasizes the importance of re-owning the role of elder, both for individuals and for a world greatly in need of the wisdom and gifts of true elders.

Over the past 15 years, Ron has presented many week-long Choosing Conscious Elderhood retreats at Ghost Ranch and other retreat centers around North America, as well as numerous introductory workshops.

Ron counts among his mentors Steven Foster and Meredith Little, whose mission was to remind contemporary society of the vital importance of rites of passage, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, founder of the Sage-ing® movement, and the many conscious eldering workshop participants.

Why Attend

  • Empower your life with a grounded vision of elderhood for this critical time in history when the passion, wisdom, and service of true elders are urgently needed.

  • Open to your authentic inner guidance and aim high to reach your potential—by finding and living with purpose and intentionality, and by doing the inner work of releasing and healing the past.

  • Your elder chapter is a life stage to look forward to and savor—a time of harvesting wisdom and giving it as a gift to your community.

  • Ron Pevny draws on many years supporting people in growing through their life transitions, and 15 years developing and presenting his vision for a culture of conscious elders in contemporary society.
