Dynamic Aging

Simple Exercises for Improving Strength and Confident Movement

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Your whole body needs movement for you to thrive. In this course, movers of all ages will experience both indoor and outdoor movement activities on the redwood-covered property. You’ll invest in your wellness by learning how to care for your body—feet, ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders, pelvic floor, brain, and all the rest—in a whole-body, whole-life way. And together we’ll challenge our common perceptions of what it means to age.

Biomechanist Katy Bowman notes that even diligent exercisers get joint replacements and take medications similar to couch potatoes. This is why it’s time to differentiate between exercise—yoga, running, weight lifting, cardio, CrossFit, etc.—and movement. They are not the same thing, and if we ignore the wide variety of possible non-exercise movements, we won’t age as robustly as we can.

Join Katy for a weekend workshop for all experience levels, ages, and body types that is sure to revolutionize how you understand your body and everyday habits. Indoors and outdoors among the trees, we’ll explore:

  • Techniques to care for every part of your body in a holistic, realistic way
  • Why nature enhances our movement experience
  • How to build scenarios to challenge all parts of your body!
  • The important difference between occasional daily exercise and a lifestyle of integrated movement
  • How to incorporate movement into your everyday life no matter your age, profession, or fitness level

The paradigm-shifting Dynamic Aging approach helps you create a vibrant and movement-rich life using corrective exercises and their practical application. Come discover how to put the movement back into your life, no matter what your age.
