Join Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) educator Cassie Schindler for this interactive, engaging, and powerful fusion of ancient mindfulness principles and the most salient aspects of current stress-reduction and awareness-training programs.

Come learn the six stepping stones for a mindful journey: Wake Up and Breathe, Get in Your Body, Come to Your Senses, Board the Brain Train, Sit With it All, and Plug In and Go!

You will emerge from Mindful U with the ability to:

  • Notice and disarm the stress response as it starts to build
  • Understand the brain’s basic functions, capabilities, and potential
  • Gain insight into limiting lifestyle patterns and behaviors
  • Sharpen interpersonal and intra-personal communication skills.

In her signature down-to-earth style, Cassie will guide you through a variety of mindfulness techniques, including breath awareness, mindful check-in, body scan, sitting meditation, walking meditation, and many simple tools that give rise to heightened awareness in daily life. Periods of practice are interspersed with journal prompts, communication activities, and reflection.

You will take home tools for a lifetime, including a take-away journal and card deck that captures the highlights of your weekend.

Faculty Bio

Cassie Schindler

Cassie Schindler is a mindfulness educator trained in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) through the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS Medical Center. A former 25-year Fortune 500 executive and healthy survivor of MS (multiple sclerosis), Cassie, who has been a meditation practitioner for 40 years, knows personally the toxic impact of chronic stress on the nervous system.

She has made it her life‰’s work to deliver wellness and stress-reduction programs and coaching to individuals, nonprofits, and community and corporate groups through her company The Alternate Path. Since 2005, through program consultation, retreats, daylong and multiweek courses, they have empowered thousands of individuals seeking effective mindful awareness training. Clients have included Apple, LinkedIn and Yahoo!
