Women’s Qigong for Bone and Joint Health

A Transformational Practice for Health and Longevity

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Qigong has been a source for women’s health and longevity for thousands of years. The ancient Chinese believed that hundreds of diseases were the result of an impaired flow of energy and lack of mobility in the spine. Qigong was one way to bring a person’s health back into balance.

Join women’s health specialist Deborah Davis, LAc, MAOM, to explore this system of self-healing that combines abdominal breathing, slow movement, and visualization. You will learn a qigong sequence that uses breath, movement, self-massage, and sound to help prevent and heal common joint and bone problems such as osteopenia, osteoporosis, arthritis, and common injuries.

You will also learn:

  • Slow, gentle, dance-like movements designed to strengthen the spine and the bones, create flexibility, and improve balance
  • How to work with the most common problems in the hips, low back, knees, and shoulders
  • Practical Chinese home remedies for pain relief, including guasha, liniments, moxabustion, herbs, and plasters.

By the end of the week you will have mastered a 15-minute daily routine of gentle, yet powerful, exercises to harmonize your body, mind, and spirit and that will activate your energy center—the uterine palace—to increase circulation in the pelvis, balance hormones, and reawaken sexual vitality.

You return home with a powerful ancient tool for healing to help you address your modern health concerns.

Faculty Bio

Deborah Davis, LAc

Deborah Davis, a health-care practitioner specializing in women’s health for more than 30 years, is author of Women’s Qigong for Health and Longevity: A Practical Guide for Women Forty and Older and the accompanying DVD series on women’s qigong.

Licensed in acupuncture and herbal-medicine, Deborah received her master’s degree in Oriental medicine and studied medical qigong under the tutelage of a Chinese surgeon/pathologist and Buddhist qigong master.

Sought-after for her expertise, Deborah shares qigong protocols for the most common imbalances seen in her clinic, such as osteoporosis, insomnia, heart health, menopause, sexual vitality, and cancer. Based on her guiding principles—the importance of taking care of oneself through qigong and intuitive self-healing—Deborah has created transformational practices for every stage of a woman’s life to maintain health, heal disease, and promote vitality.

She maintains a private practice and teaches women’s qigong and intuitive self-healing workshops internationally.

Why Attend

  • Soothing and easy to learn, qigong is less strenuous than most yoga or Pilates and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

  • Western medicine has no protocols for maintaining agility and grace as we age—qigong can help you age gracefully and maintain youthful vitality.

  • Qigong can be an economical and accessible alternative for self-healing of common ailments—such as PMS, menopause, depression, fibromyalgia, and fatigue—without the deleterious effects of pharmaceuticals.
