Body Optimalization Training

Offering Deep Manual Therapy With Ease

1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Helping clients heal and restore their quality of life requires practitioners to draw from a comprehensive toolkit. Immerse yourself in a five-day, 26-hour workshop and learn a revolutionary, true healing art form with a massage therapist and movement specialists Alco Chan, PT.

Combining Eastern and Western principles of healing, this eclectic style of bodywork is the result of Alco’s 18 years in bodywork practice and continuing education. It incorporates philosophy with postural analysis, structural integration, Thai massage, physical therapy, anti-gravity massage principles of healing, and more.

You will explore:

  • A visual assessment tool for mapping and identifying the body’s asymmetries to better predict the location of your client’s pain
  • A set of 15 “million-dollar moves” designed specifically to unwind muscle tension habituation, correct asymmetries, and realign skeletal joints
  • Bodywork techniques developed to allow you, the practitioner, to minimize effort and strain while working on every type of body.

You will understand the science behind what you have intuitively known as a massage therapist all these years, and empower yourself with a potent set of bodywork skills to reduce your clients’ stress, realign their bodies, and alleviate their pain.

Faculty Bio

Alco Chan, PT

In 1989, Alco Chan suffered a severe back injury that made his doctors wonder if he would ever walk again. A miraculous comeback after a year of rehabilitation inspired him to become a physical therapist and practitioner of the healing arts to share with others the opportunity to heal and restore their quality of life.

In 1998, Alco earned a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Medicine of New Jersey. He founded the Alco Physical Therapy clinic in 2001 and was recognized by the AMA as a low back and hip specialist in 2003. In 2005, he founded Tension Tamers, a company specializing in the development and implementation of on-site wellness and injury prevention programs.

He is creator of the Body Optimalization method. He is an approved provider of continuing education for the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. He has been a licensed physical therapist, bodyworker, and massage therapist in the Bay Area for 18 years.
