Abundant with deliciously healthy, homemade selections, our menus feature many cooking styles, from lively lighter fare to hearty homespun favorites and inspired culinary creations.
We value your ability to choose the foods that are right for you. Omnivores and vegans alike will find plentiful choices, all highlighting natural, nutrient-rich ingredients, freshly prepared and served. While focused on plant-based cuisine, our menus also include sustainable sources of chicken and fish, as well as gluten-free and lactose-free options.
At Kitchen Table, we source, prepare, and serve local and organic vegetables, organic and local rice, grains, legumes, lightly seasoned local chicken, fish, and tofu. Although our kitchen is unable to prepare items to meet individual requests, we are committed to serving three fresh, seasonal, well-rounded meals every day that can meet the varied needs of our guests.

The meals you’ll enjoy during your stay are homemade and served at the Kitchen Table—the heart of sustenance and connection on campus, as it is in your own home. It’s where folks gather and linger to enjoy healthy, mouthwatering meals while sitting cozily by the fireplace or dining al fresco, overlooking the forest canopy and the gently running creek.
Visit the Teaching Kitchen at Joanie’s Garden.
Nestled in Joanie’s Garden, where fragrant herbs grow seasonally, the Teaching Kitchen is a professionally designed kitchen classroom that features a demonstration area and multiple working stations. Cooking, nutrition, and gardening classes are held here, inspiring further connection to nature and the sustenance it generously provides. The garden is named for 1440 Multiversity’s cofounder, Joanie, who was delighting in the simple beauty of her garden one morning when she recognized the gift we are all given—1440 minutes in each day to live more mindful, connected, and compassionate lives.
Refreshment and Inspiration
Two lovely cafés offer refreshment and a comfortable respite from your daily activities. The café at the Lodge features a satisfying selection of café beverages, wine, and beer, as well as savory or sweet light bites to enjoy as you look out across the campus from the deck or tuck into the cozy lounge with friends.
Adjacent to program rooms and in the heart of the Commons, Common Grounds café awaits you with an assortment of café beverages, snacks, and treats for a morning pick-me-up before program sessions begin or a midday nosh after they end. Have a seat indoors or out, or take your treat to-go and peruse the Common Goods shop, head outside to a sunny gathering place, or find solitude in the shade.
To enhance your stay and your continuing journey, two shops offer an array of products for wellbeing, from meditation cushions and yoga props to books, videos, and CDs, many from our faculty. The shops are centrally located—one at the Lodge and the other, Common Goods, in the Commons. Both include educational materials that complement what is presented in classes and workshops, as well as inspirational and gift items designed to support wellness and a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to the program you register for, a well-rounded daily schedule lets you create a personalized experience by choosing the supplementary activities that suit you best. A variety of meditation, yoga, and other classes are available throughout the day to help you relax or recharge before and after your program sessions. You’ll also enjoy educational and entertaining evening events, from lectures to concerts and more.
Work out solo or in an instructor-led class in our 1,440 square-foot Fitness Center, which features state-of-the-art equipment and a beautiful redwood deck built around the trees and overlooking the Amphitheater. Move, jump-start your aerobic routine, tune your body and mind, and fuel overall wellness with a complete fitness experience that attends to your individual needs.
Massage, energy work, and other healing modalities offer more ways to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit while integrating all that you experience during your stay. The Healing Arts center is a destination where you’ll do just that—with our team of skilled practitioners, a menu of integrative bodywork treatments, and three well-appointed casitas that house 22 treatment rooms. Separate changing rooms feature lockers, steam rooms, and private showers. A relaxation room and outside deck welcome you to unwind before and after treatments, and a spacious patio hosts an infinity tub open to all guests.
