Can locals or visitors come to campus and enjoy the facilities and trails? Unfortunately not. 1440 is a private campus, however, we occasionally offer Community Learning Events and programs for locals and a calendar of such events is available on the homepage of 1440.org. Aside from these events, the campus is not accessible or open to any non-registered guests. 1440 does not offer campus tours and the trails and amenities are only available to those registered to learn here. 1440 strictly abides by this policy for the safety of all guests and enforces criminal trespass laws as outlined in California Penal Code 602 PC which can lead to penalties of up to six (6) months in county jail and/or a fine up to $1,000.00.
