Sylvie Minot

5Rhythms® and movement teacher

Sylvie Minot is the executive director and founder of the nonprofit Syzygy Dance Project, which brings dance to underserved communities in the Bay Area. A movement teacher since 2000, Sylvie has taught weekly 5Rhythms dance classes and workshops in the Bay Area, New York, throughout the US, and in Mexico. She is a certified 5Rhythms teacher trained by Gabrielle Roth and is certified to teach Heartbeat.

Sylvie is often described as a catalytic shape-shifter because of her ability to meet people right where they are and move with them into new possibilities. Her strength is helping people move through the blockages in their bodies and (re)discover joy.

Through the Syzygy Dance Project, Sylvie helps transform people’s lives by bringing dance to a variety of underserved populations, including inmates, veterans, at-risk youth, the elderly, recovering addicts, and hospital patients.

In addition to earning a degree in dance, Sylvie has also studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing, and is inspired by the teachings of Angeles Arrien, Carolyn Myss, and Tito La Rosa.
