Dr. Ronesh Sinha works closely with the South Asian community to reduce heart disease, cardiovascular disease, poor nutrition, and diabetes risk. His groundbreaking work in reversing diabetes in culturally diverse populations has received global attention and earned him Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2013 Excellence in Healthcare award.
Employed by Sutter Health’s Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Dr. Sinha serves as senior medical director for employer wellness, strategy, and product development, providing corporate health lectures to promote wellness in the workplace. In the corporate community he is applauded for his charismatic, personable, direct, and engaging approach to health education.
The author of The South Asian Health Solution, Dr. Sinha holds clinical faculty positions at the University of California, Los Angeles; Stanford University School of Medicine; and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He also brings his teaching skills to his medical practice. An advocate for early intervention, his primary goal is to empower patients with knowledge—counseling and educating them about conditions for which they may be at risk and helping them create appropriate preventive health plans.
Treating patients from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, Dr. Sinha’s practice emphasizes respecting all beliefs and carefully considering them during the course of an individual’s medical care. “A good physician-patient relationship is in many ways like a good marriage. There should be open communication, honesty, and mutual trust between both parties.”
