Robert Moss describes himself as a dream teacher, on a path for which there has been no career track in our culture. He is the creator of Active Dreaming, an original synthesis of dreamwork and shamanism. Born in Australia, he survived three near-death experiences in childhood. Since then, he has journeyed extensively through other dimensions, realities, and states of consciousness. He leads popular seminars all over the world, including a three-year training for teachers of Active Dreaming and online courses for The Shift Network.
A former lecturer in ancient history at the Australian National University, he is a best-selling author, poet, and independent scholar whose many books include Conscious Dreaming, The Secret History of Dreaming, and Dreaming the Soul Back Home. A central premise of Moss’s approach is that dreaming isn’t just what happens during sleep; dreaming is waking up to sources of guidance, healing, and creativity beyond the reach of the everyday mind.
For the past 20 years, Moss has led seminars and taught workshops in Active Dreaming around the world. He hosts the Way of the Dreamer radio show and has appeared on many media outlets, ranging from the Today show to NPR. His articles and books have been published in more than 20 foreign languages and continue to influence dreamers around the globe.
