Contemporary painter, lecturer, and artist-mentor
Robert Burridge is a celebrated contemporary painter who has focused his life on painting every day, after having spent 25 years as an award-winning industrial designer in the corporate design world. A college teacher and contributing author to artists’ magazines, he has self-published the books Loosen Up Workbook & Studio Notes and Hot Art Marketing.
Burridge was educated at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and served a stint as adjunct professor at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (New York City). In 1966 he was part of Fluxus art performances with Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Jim McWilliams, and Charlotte Moorman.
A sought-after juror, lecturer, and workshop instructor, Burridge is also a featured artist-mentor for workshops around the world. He is honorary president of the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP) and a signature member of ISAP and the Philadelphia Water Color Society.
He shares his popular Loosen Up techniques through his instructional DVDs. His work hangs in the permanent collections of international embassies, corporate galleries, art colleges, and television and entertainment personalities. He has exhibited work at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art and the Elverhoj Museum.
