Richard Fields is a dynamic and engaging teacher with more than 35 years of experience in outpatient alcohol and drug recovery and relapse prevention.
The author of the college textbook Drugs In Perspective, 9th edtion, 2016. Richard is also the editor and contributing author of a A Year of Living Mindfully: 52 Quotes and Weekly Mindfulness Practices (2012), and A Year of Living with More Compassion: 52 Quotes & Weekly Compassion Practices, 2nd edition (2016)
With more than three decades of experience in developing educational conferences and workshops, Richard is the founder and director of FACES Conferences, which bring mindfulness and compassion skills to practitioners in the fields of mental health and alcohol and drug recovery, as well as to their clients and the general public.
Before starting FACES, Richard served as assistant director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s (NIDA) Western Regional Training Center, providing training to the western United States, Hawaii, and Guam.
